Introduction
Hi all,
My name is Brigid Miniter. I graduated in 2020 from Skidmore College with a BS in Studio Art, concentrating in printmaking, primarily lithography. I have been enrolled in TC’s art and art education program since 2022 as a part-time student. New Media, New Forms is the final class I need to complete before beginning student teaching next fall!
During my time at TC, my work has evolved into a mixed-media painting practice that incorporates elements of wood cut block printing. The primary subject matter of my work is horses. I see the horse, an animal that is extremely meaningful to me, as a vessel for expressing motion and emotion.
I currently have a piece, Whirlwind, on view in the student exhibition at the Macy Gallery. My work has always been very tactile and hands-on. To be honest, while I have an aversion to fully digital works as a maker, I do incorporate aspects of technology into my creative process.
At this time, I do not yet have experience teaching in a classroom.
