9 Creative Assignment:
I used Illustrator to create my first design, which centers on sobriety—something deeply important to me. Although I had briefly used Illustrator in a past class, it had been several years, so I refreshed my knowledge through a few short videos and mostly learned through experimentation. I searched for symbols and used a flower (either from Illustrator or saved on the computer I was using), adjusting its color to purple, a color associated with recovery. I also incorporated a triangle and circle, both symbols connected to recovery, and experimented with color fills and wrap-around text.
For my second design, I used Inkscape. After watching a more in-depth tutorial, I uploaded an image of my horse and focused on her markings. Using the drawing and brush tools, I traced key features to create a stylized design. This process was quite tedious, and I found that working with a laptop trackpad made it more challenging—I believe using a mouse or tablet would have made the process more efficient and precise.

ReplyDeleteHi Brigid! I really like how both designs connect to something meaningful to you, especially the sobriety piece. The symbols and color feel thoughtful, and the horse drawing shows a lot of care! You might consider trying a few small variations in layout or slightly simplifying the horse lines, just to explore how it might shift the overall feel.
