11 Take-aways
https://formlabs.com/blog/digital-fabrication-101/
The website explains that the flow of digital fabrication starts with digital 3D modeling, then moves to preparation software, followed by the fabrication machine, and finally results in a finished object. I understand the general ideas from the reading, but I’m looking forward to next week’s digital stewardship for a clearer, more hands-on explanation. I found it really interesting that 3D printers build objects in an additive way, layer by layer. I’ve seen my younger cousin, who is pretty tech-savvy, use a 3D printer, and I’ve also watched people in my college sculpture class work with them. I haven’t tried 3D printing myself yet, but it seems really interesting, and I’m excited to give it a try next week if we’re given the opportunity.
